For many people, the change in season from summer to autumn is full of sadness and melancholy. The leaves begin to fall from the trees, summer seems like a long time ago and the days become shorter, it can all be rather depressing but it really doesn’t have to be at all. Autumn is the ideal time to visit Barcelona as the climate is still mild, the city isn’t as crowded, accommodation is much cheaper and there is an endless list of cultural activities to choose from, all of which helps people to forget their woes and discover the charm of a new city.

The weather in Barcelona in autumn is just perfect for those who can’t stand the heat but equally hate the cold as the temperatures can go up to twenty degrees and won’t go below 10 until December. These are ideal temperatures to explore the city on foot and visitors can even enjoy make the most of the autumnal sun in a park or relaxing on a roof terrace.

Aside from the weather, Barcelona is much less crowded in the autumn months and therefore visitors are guaranteed a nice, relaxing visit. Of course there is the usual hustle and bustle of the city and some tourists can be seen but it is not as overwhelming as the summer months, allowing visitors to make the most of their time in the city visiting famous sights such as the Sagrada Familia.

Another reason to visit Barcelona in autumn is the difference in price, as accommodation and flights can be found at a reasonable cost and visitors could also afford to stay for longer or stay in a modern hotel in the centre of the city within walking distance of all the major sights.

Autumn in Barcelona also has many events on offer such as festivals, local parties, concerts, theatre and exhibitions, maybe there are too many to choose from!

Finally, visitors to Barcelona in autumn can enjoy the splendid parks of the city and see a wide range of beautiful colours as the leaves change on the trees.

Barcelona in the autumn is not at all sad or full of melancholy and there are many reasons why visitors should enjoy an unforgettable trip at a beautiful time of year.
