(English) The most important conferences in Barcelona in 2017

Barcelona is the ideal location for business tourism and in 2015 it was rated as the third most popular city in the world for trade fairs and conferences, two places higher than the previous year. In 2017, Barcelona will host more than 200 trade fairs and conferences and below is a list of the most important:

Mobile World Congress 2017

There aren’t many trade fairs that attract as many visitors as the Mobile World Congress. Last year, it received 100,000 visitors, 4,000 journalists and 2,100 exhibitors and generated an economic turnover of over 460 million euros.

This year, the Mobile World Congress will take place from the 27th February to 2nd March in the Fira Gran Via.

ENETS: 14th Annual Conference of the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society

Barcelona will once again host the annual conference of the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) in the Centro de Convenciones Internacionales de Barcelona (CCIB) from the 8th to the 10th March 2017. Scientists, researchers and healthcare workers will join together to find out about the latest developments in the research of the neuroendocrine tumor in the postgraduate course and the numerous conferences scheduled for the three days of the conference.

E-show – eFinTech Show

Digital Marketing and e-commerce is one of the sectors that has grown significantly over the last few years and Barcelona will host a conference in the Fira de Montjuic from 22nd to 23rd March 2017 where attendees can learn all about the latest developments in big data, payment methods, digital advertising and digital travel.

National Congress of the Spanish Diabetes Society

From 5th to 7th April 2017 the Palau de Congresos de Catalunya will host the XXVIII edition of the National Congress of the Spanish Diabetes Society where the latest developments and technological advances related to the chronic illness will be presented.

Automobile Barcelona

One of the newest additions to the trade fair calendar in Barcelona is Automobile Barcelona, an event which connects technology and motoring through Connected Hub & Motorshow. From 11th to 21st May 2017 the Fira de Montjuic will host Connected Hub to present the latest technology and the future of automobiles and the Motorshow will present the latest developments from the major car manufacturers.

SENEC

The XXI Congress of the Spanish Neurosurgery Society will take place in Barcelona from the 17th to the 19th May 2017 in the Centro de Convenciones Internacionales de Barcelona (CCIB) with the slogan ‘Preserving neurological function. An essential paradigm’. For the first time, this event will include the participation of the British Neurosurgery Society (SBNS) as well as celebrating the 100th anniversary of the death of Victor Hornsley, the first neurosurgeon.

Barcelona Building Construmat

All of the sectors of construction will meet in the Fira de Gran Via from the 23rd to the 26th May 2017. The event will present all of the latest developments as well as providing a space for networking. During the conference the European BIM Summit (EBS) will take place on the 25th and 26th of May with the participation of France as the guest country.

CIE/ICN Congress

From the 27th May to the 1st June 2017 the CCIB will host the International Nursing Conference with the idea of building relationships, sharing knowledge and discussing the contribution of nursing to politics.

ESC Congress 2017

From the 26th to the 30th August 2017 the Fira de Gran Via will host the largest Cardiovascular Congress in the world with the participation of more than 500 experts who will give conferences to inform attendees of the most recent clinical trials.

ESOT 2017

From the 24th to the 27th September 2017 the European Society for Organ Transplantation will take place in the Centro de Convenciones Internationales de Barcelona (CCIB) to present advances in organ transplants.
