Here are a few highlights to inspire your journey:
Casa Amatller
This is one of the most significant buildings on Passeig de Gràcia. We encourage you to explore it for its stunning beauty and rich history. The original Casa Amatller was built in 1875 by Antoni Robert and has since become one of Barcelona’s architectural landmarks.
In 1898, the Amatller family commissioned architect Puig i Cadafalch to remodel the house. From that moment, it took on its current name, blending a Neo-Gothic style with a unique stepped rooftop inspired by North-European architecture. Inside, you’ll find some of the finest Modernist stained glass in the city. It’s a must-see!
Casa Lleó Morera
Another historic house with a fascinating story. In 1905, the Lleó Morera family commissioned the renowned architect Domènech i Montaner to fully renovate their home on Passeig de Gràcia. His masterful design won the Barcelona City Council’s annual award for artistic buildings.
The original period furniture from the dining room is now exhibited at the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC)—truly one-of-a-kind! Casa Lleó Morera is part of the famous block in the Eixample district that also houses Casa Batlló and Casa Amatller. This block has become known as the “Apple of Discord” (Illa de la Discòrdia). Come and see it for yourself!
The Egyptian Museum of Barcelona
Would you like to visit one of Europe’s most important private collections? At the Egyptian Museum of Barcelona, you can explore over 1,000 unique pieces of Egyptian history. This easily accessible museum aims to provide a comprehensive look at the art of Ancient Egypt. If you are an art lover, this is a stop you cannot miss!
