Formula 1 returns to Barcelona – have you missed it?

Barcelona is preparing to host the Spanish Grand Prix once again. The biggest event in Spain’s racing calendar will take place between 2-4 June at the Montmeló track.

Thousands of fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the eighth round of the season that promises excitement, speed and plenty of adrenaline. A great start by Alpine and Red Bull could be further embedded at the Grand Prix where all eyes will be on Spain’s own Fernando Alonso.

Live Formula 1 in Barcelona

The deafening sounds of the single-seaters and smell of burning rubber will take centre stage along with some of the racing world’s biggest names. Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz are just some of the big names that will hit the Montmeló circuit. With just seven Grand Prix contested so far, nothing is off the table and Montmeló will be a key fixture for putting some distance between the frontrunners.

With capacity for more than 130,000 spectators, the stands at the Barcelona-Cataluña racetrack will be fit to burst as motorsport fans enjoy a race that’s been firmly marked on their calendars for a while now. But the Spanish Grand Prix is much more than just a sporting event, Formula 1 is a massive social event in Cataluña and Spain in its own right. A great opportunity to showcase Barcelona’s ability to host global event’s on the world stage.

Meeting of Formula 1 fans in Barcelona

The city of Barcelona, which is just 30km from Montmeló, will serve as a base for thousands of fans, particularly those travelling in from France, Germany, the UK and Italy, all staying in Barcelona to witness the spectacle of Formula 1. Don’t forget, the Spanish Grand Prix is the first of the 2023season to be held on European soil and the excitement at seeing Formula 1 live and in person is palpable.
