Petrol heads have a new date for the diary in Barcelona. After all the fun of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Montmeló track is preparing to host the Catalunya Moto GP Grand Prix between 14 and 16 June.

Some 25 laps and 118.2km will ultimately decide who is fastest in the Monster Energy Catalunya MotoGP™ Grand Prix. This will be the tenth instalment of the 2019 season, helping to set the gold standard in the championship. With two major prizes still up for grabs before the Catalunya event, it’s probably too early to venture a guess as to who will be on the starting grid this time but, without a doubt, once again this year, the Grand Prix will see stellar performances from the likes of Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Márquez, the leading candidates to take home the title.

Once again, all predictions point to crowded stands, full of the sport’s most dedicated fans hoping to witness the greatest show on two wheels up close. More than 104,000 spectators will have the chance to see the live race this year, featuring a large Spanish contingent. Tito Rabat, Pol Espargaró, Aleix Espargaró, Dani Pedrosa, Álvaro Bautista, Maverick Viñales and Héctor Bárbera at Moto GP. Xavi Vierge, Álex Márquez, Julián Simón, Edgar Pons, Axel Pons, Luis Salom, Álex Rins, Isaac Viñales and Efrén Vázquez at Moto 2. And at Moto 3, María Herrera, Joan Mir, Aron Canet, Juanfran Guevara and Jorge Martín.

Since the first Catalunya Grand Prix was held in 1995, the Barcelona-Catalunya track has offered unparalleled adrenaline and high-octane emotion. With a total of 13 corners, 5 to the left and 8 to the right, the Catalunya Grand Prix is one of the most important dates in the global motorcycling calendar for the spectacular nature of the track and its latest-generation design.

The Barcelona-Catalunya track can be found in the town of Montmeló, just 20km from the centre of Barcelona. To be part of the Catalunya Moto GP Grand Prix, we recommend you book your accommodation early in Barcelona owing to the large influx of people that will flock to the city for the big day, all hoping to catch a glimpse of the best show on two wheels.
