By | 29 June, 2020 | 0 comments

When people sit down and make plans for visiting Barcelona, they often forget to allocate some time for those all-important pit stops to rest and recharge. Food and drink you can grab on the go without wasting time, always quick and delicious, is a great way to maximise your time in the great city of Barcelona. And when you’re here, you’ll discover one of the city’s favourite snacks is the bocadillo, a sandwich filled with anything and everything you could ever imagine, depending on your tastes – and something you simply have to try!

Bocadillos en Barcelona

We’ve already talked about exploring the streets of Barcelona via the best places to grab a drink, but in today’s post, we wanted to share the best bocadillo destinations in town so you can plan your next itinerary through our wonderful city.

Best places for bocadillos in Barcelona: Conesa Entrepans on Carrer de la Llibreteria

Probably the most famous sandwich place in the whole of Barcelona! Grilled or chilled, simply choose your fillings and dig in!

This particular outlet specialises in gluten-free sandwiches, as well as hot sandwiches filled with traditional Catalan sausage, along with an impressive selection of sauces to choose from.  Because of their reputation, they’re usually very busy, but service is always quick and efficient.

Entrepanes Díaz on Pau Claris

Somewhere you’re very unlikely to stumble upon unless you’re in the know when it comes to finding fast food in Barcelona, this particular location is frequented by Barcelona natives and, as the saying goes, ‘when in Rome, do as the Romans do…’.

Their signature sandwich is made up of chistorra sausage, potatoes and egg, but there’s an extensive menu full of great options with something for everyone.

Mendizábal on Junta de Comerç

Somewhere with a long history in Barcelona, this particular eatery first started as a market stall, but their success and loyal clientèle quickly led to the opening of a permanent shop on Calle Junta de Comerç, where they’re still serving sandwiches today.

The original bar is a kiosk with a busy terrace where they serve up high-quality and local cuisine every day. Come and try some delicious bocadillos and mix and match all your favourite fillings. They’ll be only too happy to accommodate you here from the most traditional to the most innovative selections, like salmon with wasabi, if you’re daring enough to try!
