Another year, another IBTM World conference… the biggest business travel event in the world taking place between 19-21 November at Fira de Barcelona. More than 3,000 exhibitors will attend the essential networking event that breaks new records every year and is a truly unmissable date in the diary for everyone in the sector.

IBTM

Exhibitors, buyers and a whole range of other professionals will head to the city for three days as part of one of Barcelona’s biggest exhibitions of the year, IBTM World, which will take place in Hall 3 of the Fira de Gran Vía. In total, over 150 countries will be represented, along with a whole range of different suppliers, while Hosted Buyers and the ACS Knowledge Village training programme will be some of the special highlights of this prestigious event. There will also be some very exciting technology and innovation spaces, where the latest designs and products that will mark the future of business travel and tourism will be announced to the world. Attendees will also get to see the very latest developments in incentive tourism and gain competitive advantages for their companies.

Other features of IBTM World are the 100+ social events held throughout Barcelona during the conference, helping to build relationships across the incentives sector. This year, a welcome reception dedicated to all things ‘delicious Barcelona’ will be held as part of a ceremony to declare Cataluña the European Capital of Gastronomy.

IBTM World: 22,000 meetings last year

Business travel and tourism created 22,000 meetings in 2015, representing growth of around 15% on the previous year, according to data from the Spain Convention Bureau (SCB) association. Spain is the fourth country in the world – only behind the United States, Germany and Great Britain – for the number of conferences and exhibitions it holds. These figures give you a glimpse into just how important IBTM World is for the great city of Barcelona year after year.
