One event that’s always the highlight of the year for beer lovers comes to Barcelona on 3rd October. Fira de Montjuic will play host to Barcelona’s amazing Oktoberfest celebrations, where music, great food, amazing beer and plenty of good old-fashioned German fun are on offer as visitors from all over the world descend on Barcelona.

Oktoberfest Barcelona

More than 1,700 kilometres may separate the two cities of Munich and Barcelona, but the distance seems to all but disappear when the Catalan capital dons its lederhosen for the season. Barcelona’s biggest German beer festival will begin on 3rd October at 12.00 with the traditional opening of the first beer barrel and the O’zapft is! commencement ceremony, a great ritual to witness first hand. From that moment on, 4,500m2 of space will be open to the public until 13 October as part of Barcelona’s Oktoberfest festival. The city’s Oktoberfest capacity is limited and the organisers highly recommend booking in advance through their website.

Barcelona with Oktoberfest: Barcelona’s biggest German beer festival

The city’s tribute to the official Oktoberfest in Munich will be the perfect opportunity to savour some one of the world’s best beers, the Paulaner. The famous German brand produces 4 varieties in litre tankards especially for Oktoberfest – Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier, Paulaner WeissBier, Paulaner Salvator and Buckler 0,0 %Alc –. The beer can be sunk with some of the most delicious and succulent traditional German foods, such as pork shanks, German sausages, pretzels or roast chicken with potatoes.

But just like any good party, the festivities would never be complete without some great music, this time from a number of great German groups and DJ Xavi More. There will also be plenty of spaces dedicated to cultural activities and a recreation area of more than 3,000 square metres with entertainment for adults and children alike.

Oktoberfest in Barcelona is the perfect excuse to enjoy some amazing German beer and some wonderful traditional Bavarian fun in the heart of the city.
