Our great city offers up a whole host of different ways to enjoy summer in Barcelona. On our blog, we’ve enjoyed telling you about all the new and exciting ways you can spend the summer months in Barcelona. From salivating at the best ice cream parlours in Barcelona, enjoying watersports in Barcelona to simply heading over to one of the best neighbourhood fiestas in Barcelona and soaking up all the atmosphere. But in today’s post, we’re going to tell you three ways to keep cool this August in the summer heat.

Take a summer stroll in Barcelona: Telefèric Montjuïc

The clear blue skies during those long hot summer days are the best for enjoying panoramic views of Barcelona. Make the most of Telefèric Montjuïc and see the city from a bird’s eye view, where you’ll be amazed by all the stunning sights that go unnoticed at ground level.

You can access the teleférico cable cars from the bottom of Montjuïc. Each cabin has space for 8 people as you gently ascend the mountain, taking in all the spectacular views as you go.

A slightly more unusual – but certainly more comfortable – way to see the city as you rest your legs, cool off and take some of the best photos of your trip!

Beach, beach, beach! The best summer plans for Barcelona

One of the best known plans for those long summer days, and certainly not one to be missed from your trip to the city, spending a day at any one of the best beaches in Barcelona will be one of the best ways to have fun this summer.

Whether you spend the whole day on the sands or just an hour or two, rest assured the sea breeze, the sand and the cooling waters will have you relaxed and recharged in a flash.

Night terraces in Barcelona

Complete your summer escape in Barcelona with an evening on the terrace once the sun goes down. Barcelona has a multitude of great outdoor terraces where you can relax and cool off from the heat after another busy day exploring the city.

Pick out your favourite spot – whether near the beach, in the heart of the bustling city or by some of our great tourist attractions – and watch the city go by with your favourite tipple in hand. Bliss.
